North Carolina law requires all children in the state to receive certain immunizations. To enroll in any public school, all students must provide a copy of their immunization records to be included in their permanent records file. Immunizations should be up-to-date and verified by an authorized health care provider. The immunizations are listed below and more information can be located by clicking here: http://www.immunize.nc.gov/schools/kindergarten.htm
- Diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis
- Haemophilus Influenzae type B (Hib)
- Hepatitis B (Hep B)
- Varicella (chickenpox)
Grade 6 – Tdap Booster is required!
A booster dose of Tdap vaccine is required for all public school students entering Grade 6, if five years or more have passed since their last dose of tetanus/diphtheria toxoid. Parents must provide a copy of the Certificate of Immunization to NECP. For more details, click here: 6th Grade Immunization
